33 things that happened since I turned 33

33 things that happened to me since I turned 33 last year:

1. I survived the end of the world. On December 21st 2012 the world was supposed to end. Guess what it DIDN’T. But now I can say it I survived the end of the world!

2. I lost my job 3 weeks early. I was suspended but never called back and as of the time I last talked to them a few days before they closed they were “still investigating” bunch of bs. They weren’t doing anything. I lost my job because I happened to be there when some money got stolen the day I was there but not when I was working. Of course it WASN’T me!

3. I began to get unemployment. I signed up on January 4th and by end of month I was getting it. I have been on it all year. Up and down’s. It ends on the 28th my last payment will be the 30th.

4. I ran/walked 3 count them 3 5K’s! One in Feb was “The Electric Run”. Followed up by two in March “The St Patty’s Day” one and the following Sunday “The Hot Chocolate Run”.

5. I got a nice tax return the most I have gotten since 2009 which is still the highest. I got enough to get my new ipod touch to replace the one stolen last year. I got to run a few races (2), do a zoo membership. I had fun with my $$ for sure it was nice.

6. I got my new ipod touch. My favorite by far. Pink, two cameras, really truly fun. I still am sad I lost my other one when someone stole it from me instead of returning it to lost and found at the mall.

7. We volunteered for 3 days of the 4 of Comic-Con. Exciting more is next year we can do the dinner thing the night before and come back much easier early in the new year. Comic-Con by far one of my most favorite things for this year!

8. I got my CA ID. I did this a week ago waiting for it to come in the mail. I haven’t had one since 2009 when I replaced it in TN for theirs. I am sad couldn’t use my TN for the last year before it expired.

9. I finished my 6th year of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I have now written 6 books. They might be crap and need editing but still 6 books can you imagine!

10. I have seen a lot of movies this year in theaters I mean. I don’t normally see that many but up until July I was seeing at least 1 to 3 per month. I also see them for free with redbox or on tv on cable or regular channels. I love movies. Also have seen 4 movies more than once. I saw three of those four twice. While I saw one movie 3 times. I cant remember ever seeing a movie so many times and seeing any more than once in theaters is a big deal. But 4? Wow!

11. I have applied to a lot of jobs. Since getting ue I apply to 5 per week. That’s about 20 per month. I sadly don’t interview for most of those. For every 10 I apply with maybe I get an interview. I am still sad about places I really wanted including B&N (done 2 of those), ROSS new store (July lost) and Petsmart (recent). I am unsure why I cant get a job but I haven’t fully given up yet just unsure when.

12. I have read a lot of books. To date I am at nearly 200 according to Good Reads (plus some I don’t record there including re-reading a few series that I have read before!). that is a record in itself. Last year I read about 47 while working most of the year!

13. I have survived some bad trying to get job issues. I had a promise of coming back to Legoland in May which left. I have given up on them for now they didn’t even hire for the holiday season! B&N one called me to their store 45 min from home to make fun of me because my former mgr from this B&N from 2007 was there now and had told them about me. Yeah no fun…

14. I have been to Legoland to date 4 times this year. The first was right before I found out I couldn’t come back. The rest have been trying. Imagine going to a place you loved so much to work at and love to visit but being hurt and ashamed like you did something wrong to feel this way.

15. I have been having fun with new games on my ipod. I am seriously addicted to bitstrips the most followed by clumsy ninja, candy crush, candy craze and so. I really love these to kill time with (to the point that I am not allowing myself to play games daily but every other day which I started doing few months back)

16. This past spring I grew two Sunflowers. They grew very tall and beautiful. And then died a few weeks later. I still don’t know if it was ME or them. I hope to re-grow them or some new one in the Spring again. It was a fun couple of weeks while they there.

17. I tried beer for the first time and probably last. Its not that great but at least I *tried* that. And checked it off my bucket list ;)

18. Been trying out some church groups. We left our Single Way at CC in OS in January. And now the group is gone for now till they get a new leader. We tried out the 30:40 group at CC in CB haven’t been back since Oct but hope to get back with them again next year. Nice group of people and man free food tons of it. Cant be beat!

19. I have been building legos this year. I don’t do that many but its fun and relaxing. I need to build a few small sets still. But this year we almost finished the black pearl plus a few smaller sets I did finish.

20. I have made a few new blogs this year that I keep up to date with weekly. Including my interview blog. They give me a voice and I will use the info from them in future memoir idea books. They will not be put to waste for nothing.

21. I have been baking a lot this year. Everything but the cake pops we still have to do. Brownies mostly, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Its fun. Sure none is but by the box but still it’s a good time killer and I love having dessert on hand all the time.

22. I haven’t been writing poetry much as I wanted recently but I do when inspired. And I have tried to keep up with poetry month in April and Poem a Day (PAD) in November.

23. During Comic-Con we got to do our first train ride. How fun! I do consider the coaster train it truly is. We sat up top saw the view. Also got to bonus ride the red trolley in downtown several times. That thing is so adorable had so much fun with both of these.

24. Due to our membership have been to the Zoo now 3 x this year and the Safari Park 2x. We have 3 months left of these and hope to go back at least once more to each of them. I love animals never gets dull.

25. Aquariums are a true joy. Besides Birch we were at in February. The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is fantastic! Love it. And of course Sealife attached to Legoland is a joy too. Fish are fun.

26. Rode my first boat ride since I was in the 8th grade (if you don’t count theme park rides). It was a lot of fun. I took something for my tummy I get motion sickness and I know I get sea sick. But fun times I love boat rides!

27. Had a lot of bad restaurant experiences this year. Including ones for Marconi Grill, Olive Garden. Yeah not fun. But glad for good ones that make up for it.

28. We have done 2 hikes this year and not as much as wanted but still. Hikes are fun. Putting my foot in the water in the stream wasn’t glad I didn’t fall in but still. I love hikes. Makes me miss TN a lot actually.

29. This year marked 15 years since I graduated from high school and 5 years since I graduated from CSB. Crazy time flies!

30. At The Aquarium of the Pacific I touched a jelly fish. That was like a goal I never had and it was very cool. I only touched lightly but still was fun. Never thought I would do something like that…

31. I discovered this year I really love coffee but not soda as much. I will still drink it when I eat out in restaurants and sometimes fast food. But I cant drink it too much and too much soda is too much. Its good since I’ve been addicted since I was 2 years old. But stil less soda is a good thing.

32. Only went to the actual beach in the water 1 x this year. Went a few times inbetween that for a beach party, for walking on it. But IN the water just one time crazy as that is. Boy was it cold and no I didn’t go out too far.

33. I’ve made it to 34 at a place I never wanted to be without a husband, boyfriend, kids, career. But I have to believe in miracles maybe by next year have at least one of those or be closer. I can hope right.
